On Saturday 28th September Stirchley Stores went to the Farm & Harvest Family Festival at the Beeches Conference centre in Bournville. In addition to a variety of local food stalls attractions included a petting zoo of farm animals, drama and music workshops for kids, and a man pressing apples – showing children (and adults) just how easily real apple juice is made.
David, Jess and Shelagh and I spoke to lots of people but many weren’t actually aware of Stirchley Stores and Loaf. Most seemed really positive about our organisation but it also highlighted the issue of marketing and that we still have large untapped areas of at least one of our target demographics.
We met a load families and took a reasonable amount of money too – £70, and although this wasn’t quite the £100 we need to break even after stall fees we certainly increased awareness of our cooperative.
Busy Parents Network who organised the event are due to hold another in November. So what do you think, worth doing again?
